Wild rumour. For multiple reasons, Healy is a bit of a hot head, he and Brian Burke despise each other so there is one team off the board that you won't be dealing with automatically. Also, he is too much of a player's guy to be a GM, he'd cave in negotiations.
Secondly, what is the main reason Toronto has been heavily criticized for hiring JFJ? Because he was a rookie GM. Even the powers that be have admitted that was a mistake so I can never in a million years see them making that mistake again. Can you imagine the press? Rookie GM replaces the former rookie GM. I can guarantee you the next Toronto GM comes with GM experience.

Heal's has no experience and although you may think it cannot get worse than JFJ remember the 2 dolts Tannebaum and Peddie are the real culprits in regards to running the Leaf ship ashore. They have no hockey acumen whatsoever. These 2 fools hired or Peddie at least hired Babcock to run the Raptors. Remember the great job he did. MLSE has to hire a hockey man ala Colangelo for the Raptors. They have to relinquish power in order to do that. The fractious board and the fact that Peddie and Tannebaum rarely agree only adds to the unstable environment to the dismay of the Leaf fans. Only when they hire a seasoned ,experienced GM-President yes that's right a GM-President in th same mode of a Bowman,Muckler or a Sather. How about Colin Campbell or Doug Maclean. Rick Dudley is available as well.
Until then Leaf fans will choose to drive down Yonge street celebrating a regular season win as if it is a game7 Stanley final.

I have heard of Healy aswell as Yzerman, Messier and Francis.

All good guys that know their hockey, but none have any experience with running a team. Which is the problem we have right now. Peddie even admitted that he maybe made a mistake in bringing a rookie GM to run the most mad hockey market in the world. So we don't need to bring in another GM that will have to learn on the job.

Bowman would be a dream, but I don't think he wants to get involved in this project. Burke would be great but we can't have him untill the season is over. What about Muckler or even Bobby Clarke?

Little of column A, little of column B. Healy is considered, but as Tanenbaum's personal choice, I don't think anyone outside of MLSE knows. I don't know if I want him to be GM though. Yeah, he's got a business degree from the University of Maine, but does he have the experience?

Bob
Scotty Bowman has told just about every media outlet in Toronto that he is interested, but he was under the impression that Peddie wasn't impressed with him, and that despite two interviews he has NEVER been offered the job.

Bowman confirmed the statements as accurate in interviews he gave two Toronto radio stations and a Detroit station.

Bob, I'm certainly no fan of Damien Cox, but until I heard Bowman speak the words, I was skeptical. However, having heard him speak (and read the paper) my calls for firing Peddie are even louder. Most wins in a season...Bowman coached that team. Most points in a season....Bowman coached that team. Fourteen Stanley Cup finals as coach or assistant...blah blah blah. How can Peddie not be impressed.....I'm sure threatened is the more appropriate word.

Rumor. I personally liked the Messier one, I think he'd make a good GM. Healy's a washed-up . . . never mind Garth Snow's doing all right. How about a chimp to replace him?

I also heard that rumor too. Along with a bunch of differant people liek Steve Yzerman, Scotty Bowman, and others but I think they all turned it down.
