Best thing you need to do to be legal is get a fiance visa first. This will allow him to come to the US for the specific reason of marrying you. If you don't it won't go as smothly (i would highly suggest not just getting married when he's here on a visitors visa) The fiance visa usually takes aprox. 6 months. After he gets his Fiance visa he will have about 6 months before it's exspires and he has to get here to marry you. Once he gets here you have 90 days to get married. Then you have to file ajustment of status which cost a little over $1000. It's a bit of a pain but if you love him and he loves you it's worth it. Goodluck and congrads.
Yeah it may be easier for you to go there. There is a lot of red take with the US immigration.

Why wouldn't you able to marry him? I am not sure if I understand your question. Just to let you know, we are not living in the Middle Ages, and you can marry anyone you want in anytime.

If your question is whether he can come to the US, then... Well, he can come to visit with his passport since he is an English and he doesn't need a tourist visa to come to visit you. Then you can get married and file for his residenship.

If I were you, I would move to England instead!

What ever you do, call an immigration attorney for advice FIRST.

I married an American girl, but if you don't get clearance from the INS first, they will screw you over.

So whatever you decide to do, get the facts before you do anything.

Check with the USCIS. Ask about a K-1 fiancee visa.
