Stalin had agreed to declare war on Japan to apply pressure from another front.

He only got around to declaring war when it became clear that we were going to win and Japan was going to fold. At that point we had to tell him just how far he could go into Japan.

The only thing that Kruschev ever did right was let Stalin die.

Yes, that was one of the big points in the Yalta conference, and Stalin agreed that the Soviet Union would attack Japan 3 months after Germany surrendered.

considering how little Russians were involved in the Pacific during WWII , i dont think so.
