Hi missbraz-
I just moved to Buckeye in January of 2007. The community of Verrado sits on the north side of interstate 10. The rest of the populated areas of Buckeye are on the southside of I-10. It's not as dismal as it sounds. That is because Buckeye has annexed thousands of acres of land north and west of Verrado and the original town of Buckeye. Buckeye suddenly grew in size to 635 square miles. that makes it officially 8 times larger than New York City.
Verrado is beautiful. That is my first choice of neighborhoods in what we call the west valley. I don't know where you currently live, but the downtown area reminds me alot of downtown La Jolla in San Diego. The planners did a great job in laying out Verrado. Verrado has one of the top 10 golf courses in the USA.
Now for the possible downside. Verrado is about 31 miles west of Phoenix. The I-10 is a crowded freeway with alot of 18 wheelers traveling on it. When the wind blows, and it really blows hard, cars and trucks find it hard to hold their lane positions. Couple that with a few drinks from the bars and clubs and the outcome is not pretty. Now on the better side their are two cities between Verrado and Phoenix. First is your neighbor, Goodyear, then Avondale. These have clubs and bars, dancing, bands, DJ's etc. I like Goodyear and Avondale.
Personally I think Phoenix sucks. Too many cars, people, poverty and low-lifes. It's old, not well kept up and just makes for an uncomfortable experience.
I don't know whether or not you have a choice, but if really high-end nightlife is important, then maybe you should look into Scottsdale on the eastside of the valley or somewhere close to ASU like Mesa or Tempe.
You asked if you would be bored to death in Verrado. I can only say that it depends on what you like to do and the types of people you like to run with.
Hope this helped a little and I wish you the best of luck.

This is way out there, probably your bets bets for anything good are Westgate over by the arena on the 101 and Glendale our downtown Phoenix but you will have to drive a little bit for both of those. From what I've seen there's probably sports bars and dive bars in Buckeye, but not anything I could call a club.

take a look at http://www.insider-scottsdale.com for a lot of info about the general Phoenix area and welcome to Arizona.

It's nice right now. How ever Verrado is growing fast and every one seems to be frendly there. Phoenix is 15 min. away on the freeway and there is lots to do. If your looking to do the club thing then you would want to go to tempe, scottsdale, or mesa.
