Packers!!!!

First to answer your question, the Packers are the better team. They are the better team when healthy. This is important and I will explain why.

The last game showed us a few things about both teams. Green Bay came in banged up after playing two games in 4 days last week. Now they played again on Thursday. I watched the game (don't hate me 'cause I have dish) and I saw an injured Packers squad hang in there against a healthy Cowboys team.

The game plan seemed simple enough, throw the ball deep to loosen up the underneath stuff and the run. It worked well when Rodgers had to come in after Favre was injured in the 2nd quarter. Imagine how much better it would have worked if Favre himself was still running the show.

But with KGB and Woodson down (not to mention some depth on the defensive line and saftey Rouse), the defense was overmatched because the offense was giving up some turnovers early in the game. You could see the lack of the usual DT rotation hurt the Packers when they couldn't stop them on that last drive. But even with these injuries, the Packers held the Cowboys well enough through most of the game.

It was a shame the bad calls on the part of the REFs ruined much of the game. This was a terrible job and I haven't seen the like in a long while. But even with injuries and bad calls that cost the packers field position and turnovers, they hung in there and had a chance to win.

What does this say? This says that the Packers could have won this game even when they weren't at full strength. The Cowboys were lucky to win this game as they have been a few times this year.

When healthy, I will expect the Packers to dominate the Cowboys based upon what I saw in Dallas this last Thursday. I just hope the Refs don't blow it like they did this last time. I swear it reminded me of the 90s when there were rumors of Jerry Jones paying off refs. I was skeptical of the rumors, but when I watched some of the games, I couldn't ignore the officiating that always seemed to side with the Cowboys.

But this will not matter. If the Cowboys are in fact cheating (and I hope not--this just being a bad day for the refs--but not one bad call went in favor of the Packers when so many bad calls were made), then the NFL needs to get involved AND FAST. This is because that means the Refs are dirty and no NFL game is safe for any team...it would all depend upon just who decides to pay them off. But this is jumping the gun. I'll save my accusations for the Patriots who actually are cheaters. The fact remains, however, that the officiating needs to change. Too many games for too many teams are ruined by bad calls or non-calls that should be made.

That is why I think penalties should be reviewable! Also, if a coach sees a penalty, but the refs miss it, then that too should be reviewable. This might be a solution. I don't know.

In any case, I have gone WAY off topic here. To sum up, many things went bad for the Packers last Thursday. But they still had a chance to win even while playing with backups in key positions.

So the Packers should be a better team when healthy overall. Even when playing in Dallas.

it would be pretty hard to say that the packers are better, having just lost to the cowboys...

having said that, it's also pretty hard to say that the cowboys are better, and here's why:

1) the game was played in dallas -- not at a neutral site.
2) the packers played without CB rod woodson, one of the most important players on their team (and it showed -- green bay's secondary looked NOTHING like they have all season with woodson in the lineup)
3) the packers played the majority of the game without brett favre, who is easily the NFC's MVP this season.

despite those significant disadvantages, the packers still managed to be in the game until the very end...

needless to say, this would have been a MUCH different game if the packers were healthy and the game was at lambeau (or, better yet, a neutral site).

this question will be answered (officially) come playoff time... they will most likely have a rematch (probably in dallas, again) in the NFC championship game... even though the road team will be at a major disadvantage, you really can't argue with results: the team that makes it furthest in the playoffs is the better team.

ok cowboys for lets say just 2 reasons. one reason the cowboys beat the bears. 2 the only loss the packers have are to the bears and to the cowboys. the cowboys beat the bears at home and the bears beat the packers at lambeau. so with that being said had the game been played in lambeau the cowboys would have still won. why? because they havent lost a game on grass all season. and they havent lost a road game all season. wait thats more than 2 reasons. plus i think dallas has a better record than the packers and they did beat the packers on thursday. oh wait going back to the cowboys bears game. the cowboys were without terry glenn tank johnson greg ellis and terrance newman. and still beat the bears by 24 points. nuff said.

The Packers fate will be and always has been determined solely by Brett Favre's performance.
That why the Cowboys are better. They are a solid team.
But the Packers are always capable of being really good or really bad based on what kind of day Favre is having.

A lot of these answers shows me that because of the NFL Network fiasco they didn't see the game Thursday. The Cowboys won so for now they are the better team until the Packers prove otherwise.

Cowboys because without Favre the packers don't have much else. And the cowboys are very strong all around.
