Dunkin' Donuts has found a new marketing message, AMERICA RUNS ON DUNKIN.

The unit of Allied Domecq has adopted a new advertising tagline, "Just the Thing," after scuttling its previous slogan in the aftermath of Sept. 11."Just the Thing" had began appearing in ads this week in the Boston area, and will roll nationally in October, Dunkin' Donuts said.

Last year, Dunkin' Donuts was using the slogan "Loosen Up A Little," but it quickly decided that telling consumers to chill out was inappropriate given the shock of the terrorist attacks. The company scrapped that slogan and has spent nearly a year looking for a new one, which is AMERICA RUNS ON DUNKIN.
