I have great assets, and I use those assets to increase my asset base. Not only is it about using your asset base correctly, it's about gaining a larger share of the pie.

You see, I am have a keen business sense as well.

YES!!! I do

My looks are my greatest assest. I use it to my advantage, but it causes a lot of other women to be nasty to me.

( Oh and I have a 2:1 degree and am doing a post grad law course before anyone calls me stupid.)

No. I'm fairly attractive and I wouldn't be so shallow to say that's my best asset. My best assets are my heart and mind. I may not be the most educated person in the world, but I have a great ability to empathise, think laterally and I'm a real softie & very caring.
Looks eventually fade, so it's worthwhile to have something else going for you.

There is no denying that looks matter. Study after study proves that more attractive people are perceived to be smarter and better choices for jobs or mates.

But beauty is fleeting, and if you're relying on your looks for the long-haul, you're in for a big surprise.

If you mean that you take care of yourself and play yourself up to be the best you can be, bravo! It's a smart move. But if you mean that you suggest a promise that you're not about to deliver in order to get ahead, that's defrauding the other person.

The sad part is your right. No matter how much people pretend they aren't shallow it's always bull. Most people wont even try and get to know someone who doesn't look a certain way or wear the right clothes. Yes its all about appearances and its a shame :(

If you use your looks to get ahead, keep in mind that you likely won't be taken as seriously or considered to be as intelligent as someone who gets ahead through other means. Being attractive will get you noticed but it also can mean fighting the stereotype that you are not as intelligent as someone who is less attractive.

Well if you have a "keen business sense as well" then its not all about looks.

To people with an underdeveloped, shallow personality, looks are of course much more important.

It takes confidence in one's personality to recognize its importance in others.

Any sentence of the form, "It's all about..." is usually nonsense, since it isn't even clear to what "it" is referring.

I do wish you well, but I'd also hope you'd learn to find success and self-worth in other things.

Life isn't "all about" any one thing.

"I am have a keen business sense?" Maybe so, but you don't seem to have much of a grammar sense.

raggyann: I don't think that you are stupid, I just think it is sad that you think your looks are your "greatest" asset.
