Hi I am new in Ohio. I am 19 years old. I heard that if you are over the age of 18 you dont have to take a written driving test. Is this true? If it isnt true and you do have to take the written test, how long after can you get your real license? If you dont mind let me know I'd really appreciate it. thanks alot!

Tests are required when applying for a license to drive to know the ability of the applicant.

I am new to Ohio, and I just took the written test this morning, actually. I took the test at the Highway Patrol, passed it, took the "you passed!" certificate to the License Bureau, then got my Ohio license. The process isn't as difficult as I'd anticipated.
