Never "hint" anything to a boy. Boys just will not get it. If you want/need something, just ask. No hinting allowed.
Also, the simplest answer is always the truth when it come to boys.You girls over complicate everything. We make decisions without our feelings and/or emotions. That is exactly the opposite of what you girls do.
Never trust anything a boy says until he is at least 25. Until then, a boy will say anything he thinks will increase the likely hood he will get to have sex with you.
And finally, we don't care what your hair, feet, fingernails, or anything like that looks like. A boy will always notice bra size before hair and eye color.
