Im connected directly on my modem so im not using a router. My internet provider is telus... I tried to go on xbox live but the MTU test keeps failing. Ive been looking for some info but all it says is to change my router mtu to 1365 but im not using a router. What can i do to make it work?

Your modem is running with low MTUs. If it was provided by your Service provider you will need to ask them how to change the setting in your modem.
If they give you attitude ask them to give you a list of compatible modems that you can buy from retail and check that to the list of compatible modems for xbox 360. Most likely it would be something like a Motorola. if they cant provide you with the standard MTU speed needed for Live you may need to get a new provider.
