I know that paying child support is a responsiblity a father should have if he is not with the mother or the child, but what if you owe back child support because you didn't know you had a child and all of sudden a child comes out of the blue and you are tested and proven to be the father. Why should you be treated badly if you didn't know you were the father, Now that woman should be treated badly because she didn't notify you or child services until she started to either have financial problems or started to get greedy. I know that in this every judgemental world people precieve, that everyone has babies by there wife or girlfriend, there are irresponsibile people who get women pregnant on one night stands. So if he didn't know he had a child, how could a judge make a ruling on back child support if you were not financial or legally responsible for that child until you get that paternity test. what is you guys opinion?

Hate that women think humans are machines you have feelings......sadness, happiness, better hatred for people....things in life is not that simple. I think it is judges trying to enforce their present on everyday peoples lives, when it is not their role. Their role is to just interpert the law. I see why men skip out or change countries or move from job to jobs. Just because a system that is stack against them.

I would say that the father needs to go to court to get a payment plan worked out. If the father wants to pay the child support, then he should not be treated badly. But, if the father wants to whine about suddenly having a child, then he'd be asking for trouble. It takes two to tango. A child is not just the product of the mother.

The courts have overstepped their boundaries and invaded our personal lives. I honestly think that a guy shouldn't never be forced to pay child support, If he wants to go around spreading his seed irresponsibly then it is his God given right to do so. That said, a man should want to take care of his kids and see that they are never without. If you have money and still don't support your kids then it's a poor moral choice but shouldn't be criminal.
Some guys barely make enough to make ends meet and end up arrested or penalized somehow for being poor and unable to provide. It always about money when the relationships ends and guys get resentful when they are seen as paychecks. Time with children is just as valuable, if not more valuable, than money and no one ever talks about that! What about a woman's choice to have unprotected sex? It's time for women to take some responsibility and stop being the victim.
The point is, you can't get blood from a turnip and criminally punishing guys for a God given natural act is just wrong. Child support is often misused and abused and it puts a price on the child. Paying a monthly payment on your kids is no substitute for a relationship with them and may actually discourage a relationship because society says your a good dad as long as you pay child support.
Real child support is being in your kids life and preparing them be good adults with scruples & morals, not buying them the latest and greatest sneakers and cool gadgets. Kids need our time and protection the most-not just money.

I think it's ridiculous. I think you should not be responsible for the time you had no idea the child was your. what the hell is her responsibility? She wanted the baby then she can support the baby. I have 3 children, and if my husband and I got a divorce right now I wouldn't ask him for a dime. I can take care of myself, and my children, and I don't have to lean on a man to get it done. If he wants to do something for his kids then he will, but I'm not going to hunt him down like a dog for money that probably will never get to the children anyway. It's all about greed. Tell her to get a job. if she wanted this child so bad without your knowing then she should have to support it without you. Go back to another court, and have the amount reduced to when the paternity results came out. You need to have a good lawyer to get things done. Good Luck

I can to a point see where you are coming from. I do think that you should pay support now that you know you have a child. Maybe an attorney could help you with a more fair arrangement.
As for the guy who thinks it's his God given right to "spread his seed"....hopefully you aren't sexually active. That is a really messed up way of thinking.

Why would a man want to treat their child badly by not supporting it ON TIME? It's pretty difficult for a baby to wait for money for clothing, food, and shelter.
