There is a relationship between the temp of an object and the frequency of the radiation it emmits because of this temp. Amplitude has more to do with the amount of radiation and is not directly related to the temp or the frequency.

Blackbody radiation is a relationship between temperature and frequency. I forget the exact equation so i couldnt say if its related to amplitude, but if you check out black body radiation on yahoo search youll get exact answer.
Basically the idea is that if you remove all source of light from an area (black body) and measure the Electromagnetic field there will be radiation present. The source of radiation is found to be from the heat in the area. The heat is in the infrared frequency range. Hopes that help.
