I use to think that White people were the smartest, but not now. I also am noticing that African people are extremely intelligent and can out shine others too when you really get down to it. Boy, did we have it all wrong.

My daughter-in-law is Asian. She came to the US with her parents when Saigon fell. She is one of about 10 children and I can assure you she is no smarter than most other people. She is far more disciplined. Her parents insisted on her making a serious effort in school, her siblings were treated the same way. She graduated with honors in all her academic endeavors but it is not so much because she is smart, it is because she works hard, as well as knowing and understanding how to prioritize her life.
I have to tell you, I spent 22 years in the military and have been to many places, several you probably haven't heard of and a few that are still classified. During my travels I have met bright and dim people of all races. There are marked differences from person to person but people, as a whole, are about the same everywhere I have been.

I think a lot of it has to do with customs. A lot of Asian families pressure their children harder to do well in school which causes them to study more and work harder. Also as far as African people, many live in poverty and an education is their only way out so they work much harder. I don't think it's so much of them being smarter but being driven to work harder.

Perhaps you can draw the conclusion that ethnicity and intelligence are not related, a truth you didnt know about. OMG I just read some comments. Some of you are clueless. Africans go to school and many are college educated, I went to school with many, many Africans and many are professionals here in the US, many in the medical field, many come from wealthy families, some of you REALLY need to educate yourselves and stop thinking you know everything, and yes, many of the oldest universities in the world were African, yes read up on it.

I don't know where you get your Africans from but....
There may be more black people that are better off than say 25 years ago, but thats to be expected.
Race does not make people stupid or smart, some people are just born idiots, hint-hint.
There are a lot of race questions on here.
Why do white people have so much land, etc, etc?
Everyone is always preaching some equality bullcrap, until they need to lay blame for something.
Then its always whitey's fault.
It's whiteys fault black people smoke crack and kill each other, its whiteys fault disproportionate amounts of black people wind up in prison.
Quit blaming whitey for everything.
If it wasnt for white people all you other ethnic groups woulda been screwed long ago.
Could be worse, the world could be ruled by the Spanish.

You "use" to think white people were smartest? (sigh) Makes me embarrassed to be white. Anyway, people of Asian descent are not "Oriental". Objects are Oriental. People are not smarter or dumber due to their race. It's culture. Asian cultures value the collective. You assimilate for the good of the whole. That means doing what you are told and going to school/studying A LOT. In America and other cultures with white people, there is a strong spirit of individuality. We also spend less time in school and do not value education the way Asian cultures do.

newton, ferme, von braun, bohr, edison, oppenheimer, einstein, ampere, on and on. hate to burst your bubble but almost every scientific invention or discovery from splitting the atom, rocket science, western medicine devices, planes trains autos, computers etc. etc. have been by euros, and mostly western euros. the country of germany alone has had more prominent scientists than africa, asia, so. america put together

Of course! The Asians are amazing at how intelligent they are. Most of them are upper left brained thinkers so they are great at scientific & mathematical things. I wish I were that smart, lol

Yes! I have seen the Asian state testing scores in comparison to all other nationalities, and it is amazingly incongruous, as they are far superior. It made me wish I had created my children with an Asian/Pacific man. :) LOL
I have no idea why that is....It is, quite possibly, one of the wonders of the world.

The politically correct term is 'Asian' not 'Orientals' and 'Black' not 'African'. Are you white? Because I can see how other races are surpassing you as far as intelligence goes.
