We expect a doozy of a snow storm between now and Mon-
day. And I too would like something new to eat for a comfort
meal. Where you see the snow outside building, and you are
nice and warm inside with a forkfull of something comforting.
Maybe it's time to make a filling and delicious pot of soup.
That's always good for a couple of days. The second day, it
even tastes better, since it has had more time to set and let
all of the flavors blend together.
So I would recommend a hearty vegitable soup. Made like
grandma made. Starting with chicken to cook for the broth
and also making tender pieces of chicken. After it's cooked
you take it out and cut it into bite sized pieces. And then put
it back in again. And add a can of tomato sauce, and then
slices of the vegies you like. Usually potato chunks and
carrots, celery, bits of cilantro and even a can of green beans.
Then you slow cook for a couple of hours and add some
garlic powder as well as diced bits of a few cloves. And they
onion powder and some Natures Seasoning blend, or
just salt and pepper to taste. Taste often for flavor and add
more of the powders as needed, as well as salt.
This soup is one that makes you contented and full. And
serving sliced garlic bread, toasted and spread with bits of
garlic and butter, is just the right accompaniment to making
it all complete.
Now I'll wait to see what good recipes you can come up
with. I'd like to try something new.

GOOD idea. I have a few tried and true things I make for the Holidaze but always up for something new.

I have a great recipe for Spiced Molasses cookies that are awesome. A friend of mine wrote a cookbook last year and I cook out of all the time.

One is Glaceed Jalapeños:
On gallon jar Jalapeños
5 lb Sugar

Drain and rinse the Jalapeños
In a non-metallic container, combine the Jalapeños and sugar.
Cover and stir daily for 5-7 days
Put in jars and refrigerate.
Good with crackers and cream cheese.

I have some boneless pork ribs in my slow cooker with new potatoes and onions and spices and a bit of liquid smoke. Smells wonderful and making me hungry, will partake in it after a bit and thicken to make some gravy. Have some yummy baby peas I will cook with butter to go with. I have some blueberry yogurt for a snack later on. Cold here also, not out of the low 30's had to put new stickers on my plates on the car and was frozen when I got back in the house. Stay warm, and potato soup is also a winner with a bit of bacon, celery and onion or use some burger and thicken with a bit of milk and instant potatoes. mmmm good.

I switch to other categories and back too. I hope you get the ideas you're looking for.

**You might want to get some 'clean' snow and make Snow Ice Cream. We used to love to do that. You can try different flavors.
