Neoconservatives, in their push against abortion, advertise themselves to be for the preservation of life and human dignity. Unfortunately, I share the same suspicion that you do that they are not for the preservation of life, but are instead for its TEMPORARY preservation, so that they can destroy it, at a later date, for ventures profitable to them, such as war.
Abortion unfortunately is used as a means to remediate an unwanted pregnancy, and invariably this procedure is disproportionately used by those who don’t have the means to take care of children. If the destitute and the lower class were allowed to keep their numbers in check, and allowed to have upward economic mobility by not being obstructed by a perpetual cycle of unwanted pregnancy, then where would the neoconservatives get their pawns for their frivolous wars for profit?
Most of the military’s numbers comes from recruiting those who come from impoverished backgrounds. Introduction of contraception, birth control, and abortion, would give people who would otherwise be mired in a continuous state of poverty, due to the inability to support unwanted children, the ability to ascend the economic ladder, get an education, and not be enslaved to the choice of having to join the armed services, or having their children recruited into the services.

I know someone who had an abortion and she lives in a regret everyday. She lives in misery because of a choice that was forced on her by her boyfriend. No one should have the choice to take a life!

Abortion leads to misery:

http://www.abortionbreastcancer.com/
but even if it didn't, it would still be wrong. It's always wrong to kill innocent human beings (whether in Iraq or in the womb), even if one's supposed motivation is to prevent suffering.
Every abortion kills a human being. This is not an opinion, but a simple biological fact:

By the time most women know they are pregnant (just 3 weeks after conception), their child's heart is already beating. This is what early first trimester abortions look like:

I am a conservative. I am pro-life without exception. I hate injustice and cruelty of every kind, regardless of the age or location of the victims. I despise Bush. I didn't vote for him and I encouraged others not to vote for him. I have NEVER supported the war in Iraq, and neither do the majority of my actively pro-life friends. Please watch your stereotyping.

I think abortion is distasteful. But then I think all meat is distasteful. Ground up human meat is particularly so since I empathize with humans a bit more than I do with hamburger.
I think sex without a concern for the consequences (without responsibility) is wrong and such people should be fixed. We fix pets out of humanitarian reasons, I should think fixing people would even be stronger humanitarian reasons. Unwanted pets is sad enough, unwanted children is monumentally worse.
From a moral standpoint, euthanizing animals is worse than fixing them. After all, killing is worse than cutting off procreation (or am I wrong?).
Isn't it strange that we find euthanizing fetuses more acceptable than sterilizing irresponsible prospective parents?
We basically find killing more acceptable than fixing.

Since it seems to be about one can do with their body what they want then why all the laws preventing me from doing drugs .
Society is harmed every time a child is aborted .
Its one less chance for an Edison or Einstein or the Black dude who made things from peanuts .
Each time we destroy a new combination of DNA we are the worse off for it .

For me, NO but please let me explain why. I used to have a very good friend, she had unprotected sex with her boyfriend, got pregnant, and had an abortion and expected me to support her choice. I am no longer friends with her and last time I heard about her I heard that she is now in a psychiatric hospital.
I don't have a position on the legality of abortion, but in my opinion God gave you the child, I'm sorry that is how I feel and I'm Jewish so don't expect me to convert you to my religion or something.

I think that there are only a very, very few good reasons to have an abortion.
Rape, or unquestionable health risks to the mother concerning her pre-existing health condition...and that's about it.
Any other reason seems unjustifiable due to sexually irresponsible women with deep moral issues.
