I definately agree that your problems are from not taking the pill correctly. Even one missed pill can cause you to have a period, this happened to me when I had food poisoning and threw up one of my pills.
What I do to remember to take them is set an alarm on my phone for the same time every day. I picked a time when I'm by myself studying, so I don't have to tell people what the alarm is for.
And if you do forget to take a pill one day (or are late by hours), you should definately be using condoms for a while.

You just need to try a different brand of the pill. You can try something like Mircette or Yaz. Those tend to work out well for a lot of women. If you've been on BC for at least 3 months, the side effects (abnormal bleeding, etc) should have gone away by now, so I recommend you try a new brand. Also, if you don't take the pill at the same time everyday (with only a 2 hr window), the BC is ineffective, and you need to always make sure you use condoms or try something else like depo, the nuvaring, IUD, etc.

first of all I set an alarm on my phone to remind me to take mine at the same time everyday. 2nd you say it's ruining your sex life, how? when I first went back on the pill, the pill they put me on made me not want to have sex at all. I had to ask to be put on a different kind of pill. after I was switched I was all better. your body may not be compatible with that pill so ask you doctor for a different one. they should switch you and you should not bleed 2x a month or lose interest in sex.
as for something other than the pill. I have tried everything. the Patch turned out to be bad for you plus it left ugly fuzzy marks on your skin. Depo and I did not get along it killed my sex drive and made me gain mega amounts of weight. I then tried the ring that you insert in your vagina (in a way kinda gross) very convenient BUT you have to put it in while you are still bleeding and then can no longer wear tampons. I did not know this accidentally pulled it out and ended up with a pretty big pregnancy scare.

hi, im not simon im a nurse, there are many ways to control not getting pregnant. if you do not wish to try the depo injection i would recommend a devie called IMPLANON this is a small implant about 1/2 inch and goes under the skin in the upper arm (left if your right handed and vice versa) this lasts for 3 years, many women that have this device fitted find that they do not have periods but may have spotting. there is a need for other methods of contraception for the 1st 7/14 days depending on when you had your last period but after that you will be covered for 3 years. you can have the device removed at anytime.

I am on birth control also. My mother went and had me put on it when i was 16 because i was having some problems with my period. But any how...my doctor first put me on the pill, Well I'm not the best pill taker. My mom took me back to the doctor and she told me that if I kept forgetting to take my pill each day that it would mess my system up and that if i did that long enough that i would not be able to have children so at that time she put me on the birth control patch
Be careful and talk to your doctor about other options.

Your body is getting confused because you aren't taking the pills correctly. You don't sound like a good candidate for the pill since you don't take it right. You could try the patch, shot, or IUD.

huh, yeah, you really need to take them on schedule, especially in the beginning. if it is really impossible for you to keep on a schedule then you definitely need to try an alternative form of birth control.
