I live in NH where studded tires are allowed. Our State Police run them from October to April. My question: If I were to take a trip to Florida, for example, how much flak would I get for having studded tires? I'm not worried about the general public, but all the different enforcement agencies on the way.

Which state would that be silverfox?
One look at my plates would scream "out-of-state" anyway.
Further question: Do you think they would insist I make my vehicle unsafe at the beginning of my trip?

in those states that are illegal u will get ticked an studded tires are not great for highway use got a hole in my windshield to prove it Plus you really look like a fool driving here on studded tires The big one is are you sure you want to listen to the noise from those tires for 2,000 miles
But its your trip an if you want everyone looking at you an advertising you are a tourist ( it says rob me please ) with studs come on down just remember to turn out the lights when u leave home

Setting the law aside I'd just ask, do you want to hear that buzzing on the dry roads down there and why would you wanna wear out the studs on such a long trip. It comes down to the question of whether or not you wanna waste the dough. Most Cops have better things to worry about other than whether your running studs or not.

If you drive through my state during the wrong season with studded tires you will be issued a ticket! Studded tires tear up the roads.

As far as I know there isnt a law against it, they're just noisy on dry roads and braking performance is affected. You should be fine.
