Unless you are buying something monstrously heavy (like a bank vault) and filling it with a "arsenal" of guns I don't think the weight will be a problem. Think about it, if you have 4 people standing near each other talking among themselves (like at a party) that could easily be 600 pounds and nobody worries about their floor collapsing from having a party! Usually the mobile homes have 2 big I-beams that run down each side under the floor, you could locate the safe over one of them if it will put your landlord at ease.

YES YOU CAN DO THIS ! HERE IS HOW...
Here is how you can install a 1,200 lb gun safe in your manufactured home. Yes, it is advisable to reinforce the flooring for TWO Reasons. Reason One is to facilitate handling the extra weight load that could over time cause a structural failure of the floor. Reason Two is to make your safe more secure so as it cannot be easily moved and hence stolen. This is how I did it and it has worked fine for me for many years.
Weekend one: Place floor jacks under the house for safety. Go underneath the trailer and pour four concrete piers into the ground. The piers I poured are 2ft x 2ft width and 2ft deep with rebar driven about 2ft into the ground before pouring the concrete piers. The rebar also extending about one foot above the concrete pier.
Weekend two: Now the concrete had setup, I placed concrete blocks over the poured concrete piers and filled the block with concrete. Additionally, I drilled holes through the floor and inserted threaded rods into the blocks BEFORE filling the concrete blocks full of concrete. I used a hole template made from 1/4" plywood that matched the safes floor bolting pattern. Once the concrete had setup with the threaded rods protruding through the floor.... I installed Wedges in between the concrete blocks and the flooring..
Weekend three: I invite some family members over for a cookout and to help move the safe into it s final position. We dragged the safe inside via a ramp I had prepared earlier during the week.. As in I use two 6"x6" post for the safe to ride on, and cardboard in between the safe and the wet and slick 6x6 inch post... We used nylon straps and a Chain fall to pull the safe up the stairs and inside... Inside we rolled the safe around on furniture dollies... We stood the safe up...leaned it back and place a pallet jack underneath the safe... We picked the safe up with the pallet jack..... Maneuvered the safe carefully over the threaded rods protruding through the floor... and set the safe down onto the floor.... Once the safe was in place,, I place securing nuts on the threaded rods...We released the floor jacks ....And ....viola...done...
Note the Threaded rods in poured concrete cannot be unbolted from the safe without the door open..
Later that day...We grilled out with our familys... ate Steak, Hamburger, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad , Tea etc..... and enjoyed our day.....
I am no professional safe installer, but I do work in a professional trade...... After several years I can rest assure no one can easily walk away with my safe, guns, ..or if the trailer burns down.... I can know my valuables will be ok...... You may wish to fork out the bucks for a safe with a 120 receptacle an usb plug.... the power receptacle to power a dehumidifier and the usb to work with a system that takes a picture and texts you each time your safe is opened..... As in your in Florida and you get a text that your safe is open.... You call the cops... and bad guys busted....
Good luck with your project.... Dave.. :)

No You can get models that are fairly light The one I own weighs around 150 pds.that is well within the loadbearing capacity of a mobile home floor.

No there are models that are quite light that you can bolt to the wall to ensure that no one gets aways with your guns in the safe. You can check them out at www.Cabelas.com or your local Bass Pro Shops.

Compare the weight of the one you are looking at purchasing with what is probably the heaviest things in your home at the time currently (washer, dryer, stove, or refrigerator)
Then go from there.
