Why aren't all the people chest-thumping their patriotism over this inane issue in Iraq with REAL patriots?

We were always fools to allow our patriotism to be wedded to sports in the first place. While this is bad, what is worse is morons who begin to applaud before the end of the anthem or who will not simply stand still and show some respect.

It never seemed like a good idea to mix the alcoholic rabble who tend to attend football games with patriotism in the first place.

Fault the TV network for pressuring them into making a decision like that to save on time before you fault the NFL.

It's a disgrace. Next we'll be force to sing Iran's anthem, because singing America's might affend someone.

What is the big deal here? Sing it to yourself if you're so anxious - at least then you don't have people screaming and hollering through the last couple of stanzas. And you don't have to listen to a singer who tries to improve on the original by adding a few notes here and there...

I ain't worried about it. If I feel I need the National Anthem before a game, I'll stand in my living room and sing it during the Levitra commercial.

It was a bad decision, one that will most likely not be repeated. It's certainly nothing to freak out over.

Shame on them. Also, I believe it should be sung in the traditional manner, not in an "artists" interpretation 'whoooooooo, whoooooooo, whoooooo...'
