Why are some Hispanic people racist against blacks when there are dark Hispanics out there?

And BTW .. light skinned hispanics and dark skinned hispanics don't get along.. at least not in Mexico..

As a mestizo Hispanic (brown skinned) I can say that there is a lot of self-hate among us. White Hispanics with blue or green eyes consider themselves better than brown or black skinned Hispanics even if we come from the same country. Many Hispanics are against their children marrying darker people because they feel it will ''stain' their bloodlines. This is one of the cruel legacies the Spaniards have left us: racism. I know many Hispanics who dislike blacks and see them as an embarassment. You have to understand Hispanic is an ethnicity not a race so we vary in our skin tones and eye colors. So is just like America were you have racists who hate blacks and some blacks who hate whites. Every culture encounters this problem.

I think you have a lot more insight into this question than you give yourself credit for. There is a lot of African ancestry within the Hispanic culture. Specifically in PR, DR,Cuba, and even Latin America. It's that there are few willing to talk about it. Peron, Trujillo, and many other dictators made it there goal to "lighten la raza" that attitude is still prevalent today. Even Mexicans although it does seem to be rarer. Hola, buffalo soldiers! I met a Mexican girl one day with cornrows. She was gorgeous and I thought she was mulatto (one black parent, one white parent). Her brother looked like Vin Diesel with an Afro. They where Mexican, born, raised, and still living there. No black parents they said, just Mexican. So how do you think they're treated in Mexico? Have pity on all racists people. Racism stems from fear. If everyone focused on the improvement of themselves they would have no time to criticize or hate others.

It could have something to do with the slave trade when the slaves were traded in countries governed by the Spanish empire. The slaves were ambushed in Africa and transported by ship to the islands and sold to traders who then transported them to other auctions many died. British slave traders brought them to places like Bristol where they were sold directly to the plantations not just in America and shipped. Spanish is one of the worlds most spoken languages and the Hispanic people do not come from the same blood line and are no more related to the African nations than we are. The racism is like our own that has spread from the polish, Jews,Irish , and more recently the Asians so who is stupid or is it ignorant.

I don't know, there are different kinds of reason. However, I am a Hispanic, and I am not racist against African-Americans. They're pretty cool, just like Caucasians, Asians, and other nationality.

A lot of black people hate hispanics too. I remember being bullied by a couple of black girls in school who would always call us spiks or say "Im glad i aint no Messican"... Not Mexican, but MESSican like we were dirty. There is racism in every culture, dear.

Also, its not about the skin color, its about the "race". Just like some white people wont like another white race... Some irish wont like germans, some germans dont like the english, blah blah blah..

And keep in mind Hispanics can be black, white, asian, or mestizo...so educate yourself more before you ask such a stupid question.

I think you are talking about the mestizos (Indian/spanish). Well, they are NOT BLACK, but rather typically a dark red... sort of like an indian. Therefore how are they hating their own kind???

That's a very good question. I know this Latino guy from this forum I visit who is always trash talking about blacks. I usually ignore him but when I looked at his profile I was surprised to find out he was a dark skinned Latino. I told him that he had no right to trash talk blacks when Latinos have African origins. Also a lot of young Latinos act just like the young blacks these days.

Yeah it is stupid because some of them can be mistaken as black. And some blacks can be mistaken for being Hispanic. So it is weird. But with blacks we have our own hatred toward each other with skin color. Like being darker. Some dark skin females have problems with light skin females. And black males sometime favor lighter skinned females over darker ones. So it is sad.

I lived up in New England for 3 years and that i without notice met many many racist human beings of all hues and ethnic backgrounds. i'm from the south and you realize i became into raised to "by no skill choose a e book by using it is conceal" and to continuously handle those with appreciate no count their shade, their age, in spite of...yet on an identical time as I lived up there i became into consistently asked what ethnic history I had and it particularly pissed me off. because of the fact to me all that does no longer count. yet human beings have been annoying up there. they are clannish, and it is unhappy to me that persons upward push up time-honored on the incorrect area of the mattress and continuously in a piss destructive temper. existence is so short. yet fairly some the persons have been propose, no manners, in case you smiled they had to commence a combat with you. it is purely unhappy to me, I even have buddies who come from everywhere, all hues and that they are good human beings. as long as hate is preached in the domicile it is going to by no skill exchange.
