Looking for an external hard drive for backing up my data (files, music etc)

Looking for around 250GB of storage and dont mind paying around £50 for it (£100 max)

Any Reccomendations ?

Have a look at the "Western Digital MyBook" range from www.pixmania.co.uk (search for mybook)
Should get 500G for about 75 notes from memory !

I got 1 500 USB version, and 1 500G USB/FW version . . .

Avoid Maxtor. They are often the cheapest but are highly unreliable.

I just did a quick search at froogle.co.uk and I think you're out of luck on the £50 wish, you're more likely to spend closer to £100.

Beware of some of the people selling via froogle, ebay etc., do some research on them first before you cough up your money. Quite often froogle includes real high street stores which are your safest bet.
