How do you compute market value of company?

Do you divide the NI by number of shares outstanding or the dollar value of the shares outstanding?

market value = current share price x number of shares outstanding.

For a company with publicly traded shares you multiply the number of shares outstanding by the price per share.

The number of shares outstanding and the price per share can be looked up on Yahoo Finance.
