By all means patience is a virtue. If your not patient you will find yourself muttering angry or mean thoughts outloud, you may find yourself wanting to hurt someone, your blood pressure will rise, your heart rate will increase, you may get lots of headaches-backaches, upset tummys that over time may lead to ulcers and other digestive issues, you won't digest your food well, and general, the lack of patience will make you feel bad.
I work with children, with seniors, with angry, chemically or alocholically addicted, mentally challenged people and I'm a mom. If I loose my patience not only do the people I work with feel lousy and act worse, but I feel bad. It is not worth getting upset over children who are wound up, channel that energy into another direction, there is no reason to yell and chastise those who are addicted to drugs or alcohol, with luck they may eventually recognize their problems and correct them, you can not force a junky to change, those who are mentally challenged did not ask to be the way they are, getting upset or angry with them will make no difference in how they behave or act, why make yourself feel bad by getting upset ? Life is too short to get upset that the lady in front of you at a store is counting out her pennies. Instead of getting upset because your going to be late, listen to the music, is it something you recognize? maybe it isn't and what a wonderful addition to your collection. Why be upset at the kid who plays their music way to loud, laugh about the fact that if he gets caught by a cop it will cost him $250.00,
If you develop patience you will find your life enriched in every endeavor.

Very important. Whether I am talking to family, making pies, teaching my cat a new trick, playing games, everything takes patience and understanding. If something goes wrong, I don't get angry and give up, I take the time and patience needed to start over and try again.
That way I can experience what I want to in life instead of giving up all the time.
When dealing with other people, especially family, empathy and patience goes a long way to keep any situation calm.

Patience can be a virtue only if it is properly understood. For most of us, it just means 'delay' the action, judgement, speech, outburst of emotion etc.
The importance, utility, and virtue of patience seems to be directly proportion to the level at which it is perceived!
Perhaps, it has more to do with stability of the intellect, the mind in being rooted at the "right" centre, and then consciously invoking the intuition or logic, or even the both, to be able to assess the situation correctly and in the quickest possible time, well supplemented with experience (own or of others) from memory, to be able to act according to the situation with great dexterity!

It is only the patience which help experience the flow and fullness of life continuously as life itself is a continuous ever changing flow. If we are impatient we either miss out on life or get only the fractions. Besides, patience calms and keep relaxed both self and others, good for health indeed!

The idea that 'you must have patience' forces you to be impatient and exposes every incident of impatience you experience.
It is unnecessary to label action with values. By doing this you force contrived responses which are neither spontaneous or natural and contrary to what you are.

Allowing your body/brain to use its natural intelligence to do what is necessary at the time is the only way to live as life. Otherwise, you are living as a robot.

It is an important factor in life. Patience is how you deal with your stresses in life. Calm or steaming mad? Driving home from work? When dealing with boss, coworkers, family children. etc (believe me patience is tested alot in these examples lol!)

It helps to take things slowly and one step at a time. This allows for reflection so that a correct behavior may be emitted.
