I mean, if you make 6 figures or more a year... yeah... you might have reason to worry if a Democrat gets in office...

But normal people... who are all BELOW the actual middle class....

Do you really think we can take another Bush?

And if your argument is that the new Repubs will be better - compare their policies and campaign messages to Bush's... they are the same, right?

So, I really want to hear the reasoning from a real Republican... not someone who is going to shriek about the "end of days" if Hillary gets elected.

I'm republican. I am a middle class American. No, we cannot take another Bush or Clinton into the next presidency.

Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld are the neo-cons. Meaning that they put the profits of corporations and the elite both nationally and internationally before the needs of the American people.

What most people don't understand or fail to see is that the debasement of our American currency is spiraling out of control. There is now a real danger of recession, and some analysts say that one is now unavoidable, or even that we are in one already.

"The manufacturing sector cut 46,000 jobs in August while employment in the construction industry fell 22,000 as homes builders cut 23,000 jobs an non-residential builders failed to take up much of the slack. This may reflect the start of a trend of larger net construction job losses as the continuing housing slump generates more layoffs while non-residential building is now growing less rapidly. The data held other signs of a significant spillover from the housing market travails. Financial intermediaries (probably mostly mortgage banks) cut 6,000 jobs and rental/leasing businesses another 2,000. The household survey reinforces the evidence of weakness." –David Resler, Nomura Securities

We can't continue to outsource jobs, watch corporate executives in the many various sectors reap 20% or more increases in CEO income and not realize that on the backs of the current and pending unemployed we will suffer well past the 2008 elections.

There also needs to be tax reform, fair tax is not the answer. I agree that the IRS needs to be abolished since there is NO code on any book, whether in court or the IRS office itself which states man must pay tax on income. Their needs to be monetary reform. The Fed needs to be abolished. Reason, again, is that most people fail to see that the average American worker is an indentured slave to the cycle of debt/interest.

Go visit Mexico, Cuba, Rawanda or Sudan and then come home and tell me America is such a terrible place to live.

Bush simply did not undo 200-plus years of prosperity in 8 years any more than your fair-haired boy Slick Willie did.

If you hand-wringers would grow big-enough brains to comprehend that the world isn't going to come to an end just because there are people who disagree with you philosophically, fiscally and/or intellectually, we'd all be living more tranquil lives

ITMFA - If everything is "so darn expensive," it's because the folks on YOUR side of the aisle seem so hell-bent on raising the minimum wage every few years, which drives the price of EVERYTHING up. I work as a pizza delivery driver, and when the minimum wage went up, there was an exponential pizza price increase. If you had paid attention in your kindergarten economics class, you would understand that things like minimum wage and tax hikes are what is screwing up the middle class, and if you'd watch the damn news every once in a while, you'd know that Democrats are the ones proposing, voting on and ramrodding these increases through.

Coming from a member of a party which has more wealth in it and less poverty then I would have to say you are pointing fingers again at the reps without much knowledge of TRUE facts. But here again we don't expect much more from you... And NO I'm not a registered republican...

How bout lets get to the real issues, and not just rant and rave on garbage and unqualified statements made from your own party..

And to answer your question.. The USA is in a real mess right now and lets vote for the person who can begin to fix this NOT the Party.. There are flaws in both parties. Hillary being the the worst flaw in the democrat party. She's pathetic.

I hate to break this to you but
1 Hillary and the rest of the "Democrat ruling class" are rich as hell.
2 Bush has been a true disappointment to real conservatives
3 "Normal people" ARE middle class not below( that's why it's the MIDDLE CLASS)
4 It will not be the end of anything no matter who gets elected. The US will go on. I mean we survived Carter, how much worse could it be?

Vote Huckabee 08!

Why is income always the target of Dems? The biggest tax cuts are generally during Rep Presidencies. Guess you forgot Clinton raised taxes toward the end of the year and made them retro to Jan 1, so we were all screwed that year. Without even being elected, Hillary is already wanting increased taxes on cigarettes and other items to pay CHIP, when most kids are already covered under medicaid. And hospitals do millions of dollars in charity care already, so again the rest of us are paying for them. The funny thing is, most Republicans would vote for a Democrat they thought worthy, JFK was such a person. Dems would never consider it since EVERY Rep is rich, holding them back, etc. Your party cares nothing for you, they ONLY NEED YOU to vote for them. They NEED the middle and upper classes to finance their plans for the future.

Well let's see, four years ago, my wife and I were pulling about $32K a year, feeding a family of five and working for someone else. This year, (our third year in business) we're looking at pulling a little over $100K. By this time next year, we will be debt free (save the mortgage). We have our health insurance and life insurance... Life is pretty good. Should Schrillary get elected, we're anticipating getting out hind ends taxed up the wazoo and will probably be forced to take out a second mortgage to pay for some stupid bass-terd's healthcare insurance scheme.

Something I don't understand about the libs, why do you care if someone makes "6 figures or more". I would like to and I sure don't want you taking it away from me because you are to lazy or incompetent to make it on your own. If I want to donate some of what I make to charity ( which I do ) that's my choice. If you take it that is called theft. By the way if you look at who is more charitable you will find that the "red" states blow the "blue" states out of the water, what's up with that. I thought that the libs were supposed to be more compassionate but I guess that is just with other people's money.

"normal people... who are all BELOW the actual middle class"???? What kind of dropouts and drug addicts do you hang out with?

Bush should have lowered taxes more, I'll give you that much.
And he should have jumped at the opportunity to seal up the borders, I'll give you that.

But if you think the country will be better off under a socialist regime, so we middle class who are striving to better ourselves, can all be like the low life you apparently hang out with, then vote democrat. Because the party is what dictates the agenda.

Yes we do have a good country. We have some problems, every country does and most are worse off than we are. It's whether or not we solve our problems in an Honorable way or we just ignore the problems and hope they go away that will determine whether or not we continue to be a good country.
