Global warming and global cooling are quite real phenomenon. Anyone who says they aren't is daft.

The speculation is about whether its man made or not. However, it is not man-made, but rather a natural cycle. There is debate as to whether or not man is speeding it up. But there is no real way to tell as these cycles take 1000s of years and we just aren't around that long.

The Book 'State of Fear' by Michael Crichton shows many hidden reports which stand against global warming by man made means. Even the facts are unreal. Cities have grown warmer by energy consumption, weather stations away from cities show small rises and even declines. The ice on Greenland is getting thicker, the temperature decade upon decade in Antarctica is getting colder, only the small Weddel sea is warmer. Finally humans globally only add 0.5 percent to the overall Co2 produced by nature and the oceans. Thus a ten percent reduction by humans is a .05 percent reduction in the global production.
Global warming is by virtue of the fading of the last ice age.
When someone delivers a theory that delivers ice ages, then we can talk about cycles.
I actually have answers on that... but not for here !

Much too much proof to repeat here. The real proof is in the links below. The first and the last are good places to start.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/home_page/412.php?lb=hmpg1&pnt=412&nid=&id=

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

It is real as there are millions of measurements taken every year, and they all show an increasing trend in temperature. However, no one can tell whether or not it is man made, and many people (including me) think it is a natural trend, due to the fluxuations of temperature between Ice Ages called "interglacials". The temperature has risen and fallen in such a way throughout history, pre-history, and before that. In a few thousand years (perhaps MUCH sooner), I can imagine people worrying about global cooling, as the temperature dips and glaciation starts again. If you want proof for either argument you should watch "An Inconvenient Truth" for pro-man made global warming, and there's another famous film about how it isn't man made but I can't remember what it's called sorry.

Yes there is definite proof of global warming,
and there is even proof that natural forces have not in the past caused as much warming as during recent decades,
therefore giving evidence that global warming during recent decades has been a result of human activities.

Yes global warming is real. Last week it was cold enough to freeze my nuts off but today I walked to work with only a light coat on. Nobody can deny that!!

There is an a ton of scientific evidence that shows the global warming is real and that it is driven by man made effects. If you want to see all of this evidence go to the link below.

There is proof that the Earth's average temperature is rising. It comes in the form of millions of measurements of ocean temperature made by thousands of thermometers across several decades.
