Oui! Je parle un peu... lol! And that's thanks to the courses offered in public schools. It's of course an elective, it is not mandatory. Some schools offer French classes beginning in the sixth grade, all the way through high school.
Je ne vois rien mal avec les messages voyageants par la poste dans le francais. Pourtant, beaucoup ne servont pas en mesure de le lire ou comprendre.

French and Spanish are by far the most taught languages in America.
However, the rules of Yahoo answers are that all questions and answers must be in English. If you have seen answers in other languages, it means no one has reported them yet.
Whether or not it makes sense, Yahoo can make and enforce whatever rules they want to.

Oui, bien sur.
French was one of four options for the foreign language requirement at my high school and one of seven for the requirement at my undergrad university. It's also commonly spoken in Louisiana, especially New Orleans, which is why my high school French teacher grew up speaking it at home despite being American. Violations are given for some of the strangest things on here and not given for some serious trolling. It's frustrating at times.

Yeah it's taught in just about every high school and junior high. Maybe the answers were removed because this is an English forum? If you want to speak french, go to www.yahoo.fr and answer those questions.

Maybe some people still have that anti-France mentality from the freedom fries years. Don't worry about it too much.
French is probably taught as an elective in U.S. schools. In Canada, since French is our second official language, it's compulsory from fourth to eighth grade.

French is an elective in most public schools, and is the second most popular second language after Spanish.
You must remember that Yahoo is an American company, and we still have a thing against the French.

Like it is been stated United States Military spending is over six hundred billion moment global army spending is china at one hundred+ bn. The such a lot complex science we've got 34 air craft providers while china has not up to three lowly complex air craft providers. Not to say U.S. armed civilian militias and a civilian gun possession of a hundred and ten weapons according to one hundred individuals. Militias with Armored team of workers providers and geared up army methods as good as gangs which might be higher armed than such a lot global army. It could be a bloodless day in hell if the U.S. have been to be invaded. Something round 35-forty% of Military spending and forty five%+ of global gun possession it could be epic nevertheless it could now not be viable. Fortunately lobbying from unnamed agencies has allowed for the civilian disarmament of different nations it could be very tough to take America. China and all its army might now not take our civilian populace by myself brain you I'll upload Russia to that project, we would nonetheless win.

I took one semester of French in middle school and 5 semesters in high school. I love to see things in French in places where you may expet only English! There's nothing wrong with french!

It is, yes. French is second only to Spanish as a second language in US public schools. (German and Latin are much less popular.)
Who knows why stuff gets deleted?
