I would deff recommend
A Series Of Unfortunate Events -a series of 13 books will defiantly keep you going for a while
His Dark Materials - the film of the first book in this series is coming out soon (the golden compass) so if you like that you really should read the whole trilogy
Artemis Fowl - a huge favorite of mine and I met the author who is really nice and funny

"Seabiscuit: An American Legend" by Laura Hillenbrand. The true story, written by a great writer, about a remarkable horse and the people around him. Even if you think you aren't interested in horses, this remains a fascinating book.
"The Once and Future King" by T.H. White. Definitely not a true story about Camelot; it's considered by many to be the classic on the subject, next to Le (or La) Morte de Arture (or Arthur)... (my memory is poor today!)--
Check with the librarian (just call if you plan to buy a book) to see if these or any others suggested are age-appropriate to you and the level you read at.
Luck--

The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson (the book is better than the movie)
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith (set in early 20th century, but a very good book)
Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series
My two older nieces - 11 and 14 LOVE the Maximum Ride books!

Is there even considered one of those element as an 8th grade interpreting point? that's 13, isn't it? can not 13 365 days olds study something that's age suitable? i could be tempted to look at most of the greater classic stuff. The Narnia sequence is a undying classic. I enjoyed the Chalet college books. What approximately Swallows and Amazons? I unquestionably enjoyed those. If she thinks Harry Potter is approximately dragons, she hasn't tried it. She could; that's astounding. My daughter is an analogous age as yours and loves the Uglies sequence by Scott Westerfeld. they're needless to say meant for older little ones - yet jointly as they have extreme subject concerns i don't think of they're irrelevant. (i've got study them too - I somewhat enjoyed them.) She additionally enjoys the Molly Moon books (which i think of are somewhat stupid).

Well, assuming you like vampires, since you read Twilight, some books I'd recommed are:
Peeps by Scott Westerfeld,
The Vampire Diaries by J.L. Smith, and
Vampire Kisses by Ellen Shrieber.
Something not vampire related,
Uglies, Pretties, and Specials by Scott Westerfeld. Midnighters, also by Scott Westerfeld.
And Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke.
