The answer depends on the beliefs regarding the concept of singularity. For sure there is no scientific proof that singularity will be achieved by 2045.

My personal opinion is that singularity can not solve all social ills but I'll suggest to you to take a look at some good sources, provided below, that present alternative and various approaches. Do not try to find the answer to this question through personal opinions. It is better to read some good articles and then decide your own.

How utopian! Who says there will be a "singularity"? what is it? and why will it happen in 2045.
I think "all social ills" can only be solved by the death of humanity, because one side says "gays marrying" is a social ill; the other side says "straights getting special rights" is a social ill. etc etc
See what I mean?

One can only hope and dream. I HOPE that all social illnesses will be solved by then. I DREAM that the human race will last until 2045.

It isn't inevitable. If it does happen, the immediate problem would be economic, because there would be no way to make money through the sale of goods. You might imagine that this would make money disappear, but right now there is no need to exploit anyone for the population of the planet to be physically healthy and have their needs satisfied, and yet this still goes on.

I am in the process of writing a story set in a utopia where the main character is unhappy, so this question is very relevant to me.

I think, as with all social revolutions, new questions and problems will arise. Utopia is impossible (as far as I can imagine).

Such is the way of things.
