The tool box has a key lock and is bolted to the bed of the truck. Truck is usually in a secure area. Tools are covered by insurance. The tool box is VERY heavy and it would take a lot of time and a racket to get it out of the truck.

When I lived in Texas I had a truck with a toolbox in the back, and even though I had it bolted to the truck and had a lock on it all the tools were stolen out of it at night. The best advice I could give is to keep a good ear and eye on it at all times, because like you said there is a lot of $ worth of tools in a well stocked tool box, even some priceless tools, like hand-me downs.

No, I won't put anything that expensive in it or I take my things out of it. It's kinda heavy and I lock it up and down to the bed, but if they really want it that bad, they can have it.
I'm more afraid of some idiot scratching, hitting, or taking my truck.

first of all, no mechanic or anyone that owns those tools themselves will not take the chance of leaving them in the back of a truck unsecured or unlocked, for somebody to prevent them for working the next day.
if it was me, they wouldn't be unlocked

He makes use of it for some themes and that i take income of it for others.

not really because if they steal it you can turn it into the insurance and get back better tools that are new and clean....
sounds like you have a flaring attack of paranoia
