I believe that King James was gay, and quite publicly so. I study Scottish history and have done a good deal of research on his son Charles Stuart I. They say that King James was ugly but inside he was a wonderful person, Charles being the exact opposite of that.

Not any that we know for sure or who was openly gay. Regardless it was expected that they marry a woman or a man and create many heirs to the throne since for centuries it was expected that every other child born would die before he or she got the chance to grow up and ascend to the throne.
