My mother used to hang string from the walls and place the cards on them. They used to get well over 50 a year.

Where do you display your Christmas cards?

I hang them on my window to the left of my computer so they are right here by me. Then after it is over with, I put them in a memory scrap book.

I hang them all on the wall in the living room and we put our presents under the Christmas cards and take a picture of them. We don't always put up a tree or many decorations since we often visit family at Christmas, so I love my cards. We exchange them at church as well as the ones I get from far away family and friends, so it's a pretty little site.

Christmas Cards are not as popular as they were a few years ago. Now many are sent through e-cards.

I buy some each year, and when I receive them I either put them on the book case shelves, hang them on the fireplace
or as you mention, string them from the walls. I even save the nicest ones, colourful and large and put them up every year. They add to the beautiful colours of Christmas.

In my picture window. On string strung between the nails that have been there for over 50 years, waiting for the next round of Christmas cards and lights.

We rarely have guests, and our holiday decorations are minimal. We stack the closed cards on a console in the living room. We get maybe 35 to 50, and we send more than that, but, as I said, there's no real reason to display them.

I don't get many any more (perhaps because I don't send any!) but this year I bought a little santa (I collect santas) that is a card holder. he will hold about 8 cards which is about all I get unles you count the ones from the dentist and insurance agent! I used to hang them along the mantel in the olden days.
Too bad we don't have a way to send each other cards, but it's so unsafe to just randomly give out your home address.

Same as your Mum - but I hang the string along the shelves of my bookcase. I still send, and get, quite a few so they do mount up a bit. I like Christmas and they are the best part, because they represent good wishes from people who are, in the main, far away from me.

Used to string them too, but these days put them in a basket on the fireplace hearth. When our sons visit, they always like to go through and read them.

Always keep the most special ones afterwards, and the rest I send to a friend who's a grade school teacher. She uses them for projects with her students the following year, so they get "recycled" in a good way.

In years past I've tried every place in the house. Now I put a basket on the coffee table for them. Whenever I want I can look thru them and so can everyone else.
My mother taped them to the door facing. My in laws put them on the piano. I don't get as many as in the past, postage is too expensive I guess.

When I was a kid, we taped them around a double archway in out house. Now, it seems like with higher postage rates, I receive less, so I have a metal wreath that holds the Christmas cards.
