there is something terrifying about the human condition--yet there is something beautiful yet curious at the same time. Hmm...

Far from being the end-all and be-all, humans are very much a species in transition. We were barbaric, and we are becoming noble. We were primitive, and we are becoming advanced. We were led by our emotions, and now we are becoming rational. We were at the mercy of nature, now we are becoming its master. We were ignorant, now our knowledge is rising literally exponentially.

This transition is no overnight phenomenon, but something that has been happening for a few millennia now, and will continue for a few millennia more. We are somewhere in the middle now, possessing traits of both the primitive barbarian and the civilized, rational posthuman. That gives most humans today a choice as to what kind of person they want to be, and how far they want to pursue their potentials.

Yeah, like why can we hurt others yet if we are hurt or someone we care about is in pain we think its awful and wonder how anyone could inflict pain on someone else. So while we can feel compassion for the pain of those we care about, and curious as to why people do what they do, we might also the same time be terrified that people are capable of such bad things(including possibly ourselves) what if we were in their shoes, would we do the same thing.
But it can be so beautiful when in the face of traumas, we can see the rise of the human spirit in which others reach out to help one another or in those random acts of kindness or by those who feel important to make this world a better place for the next person that they dont even know or will ever know.
And the human spirit and species strive on. Very obvious in the third world cultures especially. So much poverty or war yet such a strong desire to survive and continue despite overwhelming adversities.
