Hmm. You know how I feel about music, and I encourage it 100%. I think he will be a smarter person if he opens his mind to music at an early age. The thing is...drums can be loud...and so can 1 year olds..lol. hopefully he doesnt give up on it. drums can be pretty hard.

well it's not going to be cruel if you don't buy a small drum sets to go with the drum stick. just know if he like to play drum or not but i will say get him something like a small remote car racer. he will love that.

you are pure evil. They do have some that don't have too much volume, and have other instruments along with the drums. My 2 year nephew got those for his birthday. We still love him.

I say go for it. It's like when people are watching their siblings children and they hop them up on sugar and soda and send them home. They all love their borthers and sisters, but the fact is they are not their kids so they don't have to deal with them. Besides it will be a great story at family gatherings on how you bought her child an instrument that drove her nuts. lol. good luck...

my parents did that to some of our family we didn't like and the kid loved the drums and played them nonstop for a long time until his dad broke them

do it, it wont be bad. My child has one and he uses it only at certain times. We call it practice. I play the guitar also. Hes 3 and does keep a beat now. You might be doing the kid a favor to let him explore his talents at an early age.

It's cruel to his parents! Man, it sucked enough with my dad playing drums well; I can't imagine how bad it'll suck to have a spastic 1yo pounding the skins...
