Socialism is just another form of government good and bad if its so bad why has china (a socialist government) become the worlds largest producer of goods. Depending on the circumstances socialism can be good. Remember when the Russian revolution happened people were starving and freezing to death in the streets after the revolution they were fed and housed the best a poor country could manage. Once the Russian government became corrupt though it failed the people and was eventually destroyed just like many capitalist country's have done in the past and will do so in the future. No matter what kind of government there is once it forgets that it is there for the people and not for itself it will eventually fail.

I wonder where Region 50 studied Russian History. After the fall of the czar and czarina, the country was out of control and crime was rampant in the streets. A book was written about roaming, starving orphaned children who became dangerous .. called " The Wild Children". Russia was a closed society then and no one knew how bad it was.
Even for a small country the size of Vermont, socialism would not work. Initially, it would appear to, but in the end the country would bankrupt or fall into default. A free market is necessary for citizens to set and reach attainable goals As for China... its in a hot bed right now because of its shoddy goods. Just because it is made in China does not mean it's quality made.

A centrally planned economic device without marketplace expenditures or revenue, the position resources is owned by ability of the state, is a device without an efficient incentive mechanism to direct economic pastime. by ability of failing to stress incentives, socialism is a idea inconsistent with human nature and is hence doomed to fail. Socialism is depending on the concept incentives don't be counted! in my opinion Communism is an severe type of Socialism.. @

Hillary thinks so..she is trying to socialize health care and many other things. Socialism failed. Hillary is way out of date and would make a poor leader...even if her hubbie is out not having sex with interns right now.

to answer your question, it wouldn't work in the US. it would work in some smaller countries. like if the state of vermont were a country, it would work there.
