Don't be worried, all babies do things at different ages. My daughters could sit on their own at 6 months, but my son was about 8 months.

My 7 1/2 month old son just got to sitting up by himself. We still put the Bobby behind his back, cause once he looses balance, there is no stopping him from going backwards. Don't worry about it.

Don't worry... Your baby will develop fine and one day will sit on his own. Not every baby sits up by the 6 month mark. BUT to help him along... AVOID keeping him is a swing too long. lay him on the floor on a blanket and allow him to move. (kick in place..) Put him on his tummy and help him develop his neck and back muscles. You have to "practice" with him. Get down on the floor with him and talk to him, sing and play with him... He'll catch on soon enough.

Six months is the normal milestone for sitting up unassisted. Some children may lag a bit. I'd say if by the middle of this 6th month he still isn't able to sit up alone, talk to your pediatrician and see if there is something neurologically wrong.

They go by a general rule that they *usually* sit up *around* six months. if he's not, I wouldn't be terribly worried about it. Give it a month or two. there's very little that can be done to speed up or slow down his development at this age, so just wait and it will come.

Don't take this the wrong way, but boys usually do things a little slower than girls!
And all babies march to their own beat!
I have two boys myself and all they do is sit :)

Babies develop on their own schedule. I wouldn't worry so much. He might be developing other areas, like intellectually or something. Some people are naturally smart, or naturally athletic, because we are all different in differen areas and aspects, it only makes sense to me that as babies we are different too!
Check with his doc to ease your mind, but I wouldn't stress over it.

No need to be concerned yet, all kids move at a different rate it has nothing to do with their intelligence or coordination. Don't sweat it.
