I support the troops.
I have e-mailed my congressmen about issues like stressing diplomacy over force, passing the "down time between deployments" bill, and stopping the "back door draft." In the days before e-mail, I wrote letters.
I wrote to my niece, a veteran's wife, both while her husband was deployed and now that he is back. I also have a nephew whom I love in active service now. I do what I can to help him and his new "war bride," but it is difficult because they live far away.
I pay my taxes. I watch how the government spends the taxes, and voice my opinions when money that could be going to treating veterans more effectively is wasted.
I try to practice restraint in my exercise of the rights and liberties they defend.
I donated to the USO once, and to several local veterans' organizations routinely.

I support our troops 100%, however, I don't support the person who makes the decision as far as the troops assignments...Ex: Iraq. They aren't there or anywhere or doing anything cause THEY want to, even though they joined knowing that, they are told what to do. We support them because they are the ones defending our freemom. I was married to an army man, I was very proud of him and everything he did, how did I support?...I was in the FRG, I would constantly cook/bake for the units on base, watch their kids if one spouse was deployed so the other could get things done, lots of things.

I do support the British troops wherever they may be fighting. They are doing a great job despite an incompatent government leaving them living in squalid conditions when they get home and with kit shortages etc, they deserve as much support as possible. They have no choice about going to Iraq and Afghanistan, if they don't go they get court marshalled and discharged. Remember that!

I support the troops, but not the cause!!. I don't believe we should be fighting in a war that doesn't bring us anything but loss of young lives, sadness and grief. I am a christian and the bible already says that Babylon will never be rebuilt. This just tells me that America is fighting a losing battle in Iraq. But then again abck to the question..how do I support the troops? Simple...in spirit and in daily prayers for their safety and wellbeing.

YES!!! I think that even if we don't support the war or what is going on in our country that we still to need to stand behind our troops. They are doing what they think is best for their families as well as ours. I mean look at how many have gone back voluntarily and really believe that they are making a difference. To support them we get care packages together to send to them.

I support our troops! I pray for their safe return! I pray for the families who have lost someone in this War!
But, What I do not support, is the man that sent there!
He should have to write to all these families that have lost a family member, at-least sign the document of the fallen soldier.

Our troops have to do what the Government orders and that means they put their lives on the line for a Government that is happy for them to be used as cannon fodder. The only alternative is mutiny, but this is an unlikely option as they are professionals. It angers me that so many ignorant people equate them with terrorists although that may be a specific agenda.
I agree that bombing kills innocent people, but that again comes back to the Government. In all other cases they are fighting insurgents; a case of kill or be killed.

Support the cause and the troops ,but the outcome, no.
Its a nice patriotic idea ,but its still a dumb one, no matter how well intentioned.
I send care packages to help the troops.

I have a friend in the army (he's been on three tours, and leaves for another one next year) and I give him a hug when I see him, and I e-mail him when he's out there. But I think this is just a ridiculous war, we shouldn't be there in the first place.

Will they be fully supported when they come home?
That is the big question.
Veterans are NOT supported.
How they are all treated when they come back, will prove if they were supported while fighting.
