There was actual footage of them marching and begging for her to be killed yesterday, so I assume that this is true also. My heart goes out to the poor woman, it really does.

This is true, but it is not a spontaneous reaction of outrage on the part of a piously violent population.
This isn't the first time that riots have been orchestrated by extremists to stir up trouble. You may remember the case of the Danish cartoons depicting Mohammed, which were greeted with riots all over the place. It's even the same issue: Muslim prohibition against any kind of image of Mohammed. But these actions are being orchestrated, sometimes by international Muslim extremists, with local cooperation of course.
To me, this is the outright exploitation of religion by a few people without conscience. Imagine a religious leader that encourages people to act on their most vicious and basest instincts, in the name of Religion. Religion is supposed to elevate the human spirit, not bring it down into a cesspool.
I know this isn't true Islam.
Of course, the media thrive on sensationalism and excitement. Consciously or not, they encourage this kind of thing.
