Although marriages are supposed to be based on only love, I know that they are also partially based on mutual benefit. Because he has something ot offer and I have something to offer. We love each other also, but love isn't enough to keep a marriage going. I know this sounds a bit negative, but it's true. When you've been married a long while, you become comfortable with your lifestyle and you can't imagine having a life outside of the relationship you're currently in. This is why I think that a lot of people don't want to leave the relationship, though they claim it's "just for the kids" that they're staying together. And you know what? There's nothing wrong with that.

I can tell you that I love my husband and that I married him exclusively for that reason. He is the best thing that ever happened to me. The bonus is that he's a hard worker who is well to do and with our combined incomes, we make more than enough for our creature comforts. But mainly, I married for love. When we got married, he didn't make the kind of money he's making now. I was the primary breadwinner and yet he still took care of business. Those that marry for convenience, good luck to you. Nothing wrong with it but it has the potential for disaster.
