Hi
Raspberry leaf capsules and tea will hopefully bring on your labour and will also make it hopefully shorter. You can try all of the old remedies like fresh pineapple, a hot curry and also walking or going over bumps in the car i.e. down a dirt track. The best thing they say is sex to start your labour as the uterus contracts during sex and also tweaking your nipples. Good luck!!!
PS My wife bent down to feed the cat and her waters broke:) our baby was born 4 1/2 hours later.

Poor you! I know exactly how you feel, those final weeks seem like an eternity when you are waiting for baby to arrive. My first came at 38+5 weeks so it doesn't necessarily follow that all first babies are late. I was very inactive during my last month of pregnancy as a result of SPD too. I know people who have walked and walked to try to bring on labour and have still gone overdue!
I know it's hard but try to enjoy the last few weeks - watch your favourite telly, sleep (if possible) and do the things you want to do with your time; soon someone else will be calling the shots! ;-)

Since your considered full term, ask your doctor if you can try a little bit of walking. I'm also on bedrest with first baby (it sucks!) and I am getting impatient. Firstborns are not always late. My mom had her first baby right on her due date. Also I think my baby may come early because he is so low and when I went for an u/s yesterday his head was very low in my pelvis, we couldnt even see his face.
I also heard eating fresh pineapple gets labor moving (dont know how true that is), but yeah if I were you I would call and ask if you can walk, even if its a little bit. Goodluck and congrats

My first was 3 weeks early. I gave birth at 37 weeks. But i think that had a lot to do with my job, and being on my feet for more than 8 hours a day.

Just lay around until the baby wants out. Some first babies are early, some are on time, others late. It all depends on the individual. My daughter was 2 weeks late. Hopefully, yours won't be. Good Luck!
Have your hubby wait on you hand and foot!
"I need a foot rub. dear."

you never know! my first was 2 days late and the other 10 days late. My sister went early with her first baby. Even with bedrest, you may have the baby before 40 weeks.
Good Luck

Labor happens when your baby is completely developed and releases hormones that tell your body to begin labor. Exercise has absolutely nothing to do with it.
The majority of pregnancies that were "overdue" just seemed that way because of a couple of days off on calculating the due date.

My first baby came 2 days early. Don't get too impatient, rather enjoy your rest while you can. There won't be much after!!
