if i used a font on i.e shirt. and started to sell them. would that be illegal ?

Would it too be illegal if i added my own custom designs + the font ?

If you bought the font, you can use it as you like, just check the purchase agreement to make sure. Some fonts you can download for free for personal use, but you need to pay if you use it in a commercial application. If it is a font you designed, then no problem.

It depends on where you got the font, what the font is and if it is still under copyright laws.

Times Roman & Arial are long past copyright laws, as are many other fonts.

Why would you even worry about this unless you know the downloaded font has come with a no commerical use disclaimer?
