I'm 33 weeks and just had some last night. That and pepperoni are my cravings with this pregnancy. Just don't eat anything raw or under cooked.

depends on where you get it. some Chinese foods are characterized by being greasy, too salty and have plenty of MSG, an ingredient that's really not too good for the body, let alone a pregnant woman. Some good Chinese restaurants, and yes, even some take out Chinese restaurants, offer food which do away with MSG. Check first with your restaurant if they use MSG. A lot of good Chinese restaurants already do away with it.
good luck!

I craved chinese food SOOO bad when i was first pregnant, and my first pregnancy. I don't see why not. I would stay away from raw fish. There are some kinds of fish that are harmful during pregnancy, and some that you need to keep to a minimum. But i'm sure most of what you order at the chinese place is going to be ok. Just watch the salt intake.

Why not!! I had to have chinese takeaway most weeks while I was pregnant,I loved it!
Dont worry about it containing nuts(like a previous poster said) as medical people are now saying its ok for pregnant women to have nuts in moderation

Since I live in China and eat only Chinese food- I don't see a problem with it. American "Chinese" food shouldn't have any MSG in it since most people try to stay away from it, so it's safe. There really aren't any food restrictions and if it's good enough to eat while not pregnant then it should be good enough if you are.

Lots of Chinese takeout...has msg...monosodium glutamate which is an excitotoxin. It's purpose is to stimulate the nerves on your toungue...to taste the food as if it is the first time you have eaten a bite. Normal eating..allows the nerves to lessen to a degree as you get full...so you aren't as interested in eating. This excitotoxin...is very bad on your nerves...and if you eat a lot of it..overtime..can cause nerve damage. Some people avoid msg...excusively because of other neurological problems that they may have...like epilepsy. Children should never eat it, their young bodies can not handle the extra stimulation; msg causes ADD symptoms within a few minutes of eating.
Maybe a nice tomato with a little salt on it..will hit the spot?

Sure... the baby is probably just craving protein or an important mineral that comes from Chinese food.
