I was just wondering if signs of labor would be different with a breech baby? Will a breech baby still "drop" or engage? Will you still dilate, and will your water break?
I am 36 weeks pregnant 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I have been having contractions about every 2 minutes for the last couple of days. They are not getting stronger or more intense, but they are there. I have been to the hospital twice, thinking it "was time", but they keep sending me home.
I feel like its time for this baby to come, i'm just worried that I won't have any other signs because the baby is breech.
Any help would be aprreciated. I'm just not sure when I should go back this time.

You should have all the same signs of labor. I was in a very similar situation. I was 36 weeks with a footling breech. I had mild contractions for a few days.

Then one night my water broke and I got full-fledged contractions. If your water breaks, you'll probably be sure. With a baby that's head down, the baby's head often plugs the cervix, so there is minimal fluid loss. With a breech there is less of a chance that the cervix will be blocked.

My doctor told me to get to the hospital right away if the water breaks. Other than that, I guess be patient and wait for stronger contractions. Good luck!

Keep on eye on your contractions as they will get stronger and longer in duration. Breech babies do have a chance of turning at the very last minute. My Neice Kayla was that way when she entered our world. My sister-in-law thought for certain she would have to have a c-section because Kayla wasn't going to turn, and at the last minute she turned right before delivery. They can engage and you still will dilate. Some women don't have hteir water break. I didn't have my water break with either one of my children, the doctor had to break my water, and then 2 minutes later my children were born. Don't worry about other signs, they will come. Mainly watch the intestinty and duration of the labor pains. Good luck and I wish you the best.

If you are having contractions every 2 minutes, I don't know why they are sending you home. Did the doctors tell you the baby is breech? The labor signs I believe are the same. I would go to your personal doctor and see what he says. 2 minutes is awfully close together. Still, go see your doctor and see what he tells you. Good luck.

Pre-birth has nothing in it to shorten your labour, don't know who told you that. Pre-birth works with you and will only help if your body is ready to go into labour. It does have a remedy in it to help with softening of the cervix, but once again only if your body is ready for that. It doesn't make you go into labour or have a shorter labour. I used to work for the company who made it. I'm not sure about the nesting because I experienced it with my first at 28 weeks, and didn't have him until 40 weeks. Goodluck.
