2x - y = 8

I don't need the exact value of x. I need the formula

I already answered one of these types of questions, and the answer should look something like this:

Solve for c: p = a + b + c
Answer: c = a + b - p

x = (8+y)/2 after you add y on both sides and divide by 2 on both sides

This simplifies to x=y/2+4

x=(8/2)+(y/2)

Simplified....x=(1/2)y+4
