I work in retail and bras just happen to be my special area and here is how to measure for the correct size, 1 measure with a fabric measuring tape (the soft non metal kind) around the ribs just under the bust and write that down, 2 measure the fullest part of the bust about 1 or 3 inches above the last measurement and Do Not Pull The Tape tight you wont get a correct size, then and write down the inches again, now here is the code to defuse those numbers the letter in a bra size stands for the cup size which is the second set of numbers, if it is 1" more than the first numbers (the bust line measurement which is the numbers in a bra size) = A, 2" more = B, 3" more = C, 5" more = D, 6" more = DD

It depends which band size it is on. Generally an A is bigger than a AA, but here is where it gets a bit confusing.....the cup on a 34AA is bigger than the cup on a 32AA. I know I will probably get some thumbs down because it doesn't make much sense, but this is what any reputable bra specialist will tell you.

A is bigger than AA. The farther down the alphabet, the bigger the size. (It's rather like shoe widths.) There are (or used to be) even AAA bras--mainly, I think, for little girls wo wanted to wear bras but didn't really need them.
