until the razor doesnt cut anymore

It depends on 1) the type of blade it is, 2) how much area of your face you are shaving, and 3) the length and coarseness of the stubble you are shaving. All of these factors increase the wear on the blade and would contribute to its diminished effectiveness over time.

Given a medium quality blade and if you are shaving your entire face, then about 6 times would be the norm.

Edit: I recently bought an Infinity razor which claims to never dull. I've used it about 20 times so far and it still shaves like the first time, so maybe you should get one of those.

Oh, and a medium quality blade would be one of those uncoated ones and a single or double blade. The ones they have on the market now will last through two to three dozen shaves without getting noticeably dull if you don't have a coarse stubble.

I think it is sort of a judgement thing. I used to use a Mach 3 razor and I found that it quickly dulled out. I'd say It went through about 30-50 shaves. I shave only about once a week (patchy facial hair :- ( )so it lasted for about a year, but i couldnt really handle it. I just switched to the Fusion blade by Gillete and man that thing never gets dull. My uncle, who shaves about every other day said one of those lasted him about 3 months so thats about 50-90 shaves.

I would go by this.... the more blades the longer it lasts and the more expensive.

You could look on their website too, heres some info on some popular razors.

Heres a blog I found if you want another opinion

Edit: Someone else said its by the thickness and corseness, which all attributes to how often you shave. What kind of razor are you using now? And how often do you shave?

If you shave in the shower, after you have scrubbed your face and beard good, first thing, with soap and warm water and a washcloth, then shower, THEN shave (easy, since your aim will not be too good the first time), you will find that your shaver will last a long time and still cut like new. Cleaning the oil off the beard so the water can really soften it keeps it from dulling your razor, gives you a super close shave that your girl will probably notice right away and appreciate (since you don't have to rub against your rough stubble, but she does.)

Depends on the quality of the blade, how you care for the blade, and of course the coarseness of the stubble it's shaving.
I have very coarse facial hair, and usually get 2.5 shaves out of a decent quality razor

Use it as many times as YOU want to.

If you want to use a new razor blade every time you shave, then do that. If you want to use the same razor blade until it starts ripping your skin open, then do that. If you want to change razor blades somewhere in between those two extremes, then do that.

It's entirely up to YOU. You are in charge of your own life.

I'm a girl, and I use one razer blade for two shavings, then dispose it.

this would all depend on: the type and quality of the shaver, the coarseness of the hair being shaved, the size of the area being shaved and personal preference. Personally I use a shaver in my pits three times and I use a different shaver for my legs and I use it once cause it gets dull faster.

Until it goes blunt.

Sorry if that doesn't seem particularly helpful, but razor blades become blunt at different times, depending on the make, and how thick your hair is. Just judge whether you think it is too blunt for you to use.

I've noticed a lot of people saying every two or three times, but I only change mine a few times a year and I haven't had any problems. But maybe it's different for men because my boyfriend goes through them really quickly.
