does the pill not have an affect during this week?

well i asked my doctor the other day and she said your not suppose to have sex during that week, or you at least need to use a back up method.

ive had sex however during that time with out a condom and i havent gotten pregnant. all of my friends are the same way

Yes, it is still working during that week you take the sugar pill. But remember not birth control is 100%.

Yes, the medication is still effective in preventing pregnancy during that week. The "sugar" tablets you are referring to are really only in the pack to help you retain the regular habit of remembering to take your birth control

i had the same question but as far as i can tell, i did a bit of research, you are still protected during this time frame. Reason? because you are not ovulating when you're on your period your body is simply releasing its eggs. Which means your probably NOT gonna get prego..
