Humor is NOT an infinite sadness...lol sadness is!
As a matter-of-fact (lol) 'Hellraiser' was completely driven by the 'infinite sadness' of each individual character! The one woman was so sad she lost her husband, that she killed and fed him, in order to retain their relationship. Infinite sadness also brought his daughter to into the horrors of 'Pinhead'. All of the Cynobytes (sic) became that way because they were dealing with their own infinite sadnesses.

The thing for sure. Cause think about it, this alien can form into anyone (even animals). Paranoia is the main key in this movie.
