Osama Bin Laden was recruited by the CIA at the Islamic College in Brooklyn NY in the early eighties. The plan devised by Zbigniew Brzezinski (Jimmy Carter's national security advisor) to train and equip Afghan warlords to overthrow the democratically elected but pro-Soviet Afghan government went to plan up until the Soviet invasion. These warlords controlled much of Afghanistan outside the cities, but were always fighting eachother for more power/land etc, and the CIA & MI6 managed to unite them to overthrow the government, and once the Soviets invaded, to keep them occupied as much as possible. Osama Bin Laden was a CIA "operative" in this guerilla war with the Soviets, and as time went on he became a highly effective one. It was when he became disillusioned with what he saw as US interference in the Middle East that he reneged on his employers and began to attack them instead. Don't forget that Islmic extremism was positively encouraged by the CIA throughout the area of the Pakistan/Afghanistan border, as a way of uniting the local mujahedin commanders and their men. The mujahedin were trained by MI6,CIA, and ISI secret services, and it is from these former "allies" that much of the Taliban government was formed-Taliban means "Student" in Afghan. The Taliban were courted by the US government as recently as 1999, in order to ensure US access to their oil & gas reserves. As the political landscape changed over the next year or two it was decided that it would be easier to invade Afghanistan than deal with their unpredictable government; the Sept. 11th attacks provided just the excuse they needed.

The US & Britain need Bin Laden alive, whether he's working for them or not-he's their hate figure, a modern day Emmanuel Goldstein for the "proles" who sit watching reality tv and read The Sun and lap up the swill they get spoon fed by our compliant media.

What has been convenient for the US about going into Afghanistan and Iraq? I'd say it's been decidedly Inconvenient.
It's been hard on the soldiers, hard on the administration too.
But if you believe the conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks, maybe bin Laden IS a double agent. He claims responsibility for the attacks, thus drawing suspicion away from the real culprit, George Bush. Now THAT'S logic.

The US and Great Britain helped Osama and the Taliban to fight the Russian Invasion, there you can see what a bunch of ungrateful scum they are. When the terrorist attacks to the Kobal Towers in Saudi Arabia, Osama offered his help to the Saudis and the Saudis rejected it and accepted the help of US and Great Britain. Then Saudi Arabia allowed US, Great Britain and their allies to use their military bases to attack Saddam Hussein during the Gulf War. Osama and this followers felt that it was treason to let "infidels" to use Saudi territory to attack another Muslim country and they turned against the infidels.

Do some research before believing what other people, with apparently biased minds, are telling you.

They have never even tried looking for him, he was just an excuse for bush's hungry hippo style oil-grabbing.

He has simply had a shave and been reassimilated into society as a burger king worker.

* If i can find a plant pot in my garden on crappy old google earth, the sophisticated live satellite imaging of US military intelligence should be able to find him.
* If the US intelligence services can bribe the generals of the Iraqi army to sacrifice their entire armies, i'm sure they can find a farmer or someone in afghanistan to reveal bin laden for a huge cash sum?

It's all smoke and mirrors.

He worked for the CIA for long enough in Afganistan, before the invasion, by the west.

His brother is still a businesman living and working in the USA. Surely if Osama was a true enemy the US would have taken his brother into custardy..!!
