Why do ex-spouses use their children to justify their dysfuntional actions?

If a parent truly loves their child-- as all parents do- why would they use their children to control or manipulate their X?

Because they love themselves more than they love their children. Children can be and generally are harmed - psychologically - when they are involved in the games adults play, especially if those adults are their parents.

I wish I knew the answer to this. I can only expalin what my ex does. I recenly filed to have my child support adjusted through an attorney. When she was served, sheite hit the fan bigtime. She stopped sending her w/ clothes, personal hygiene items, no meds & w/o her school homework. This only hurts the child, not me but her intent was to lash out at me. My daughter & I actually had fun shopping for clothes. This case goes much deeper than I am posting but I think the point is made. I truly believe it all has to do w/ control & money. According to my kiddo's my child support goes towards her husbands deer lease.

He desires to get a lawyer and record for a metamorphosis in custody so as that he's the standard determine. until that's finished then he desires to seem on the door to get the youngsters if he's refused then write it down or perhaps call the police if needed. despite the fact that if that's an option he can p.c.. them up from college.

You are right....any parent that truly loves their child(ren) wouldn't use them as a tool to control or manipulate their X....It's a terrible shame that people can actially do this....
