An organization I am quite familiar with is selling chocolate bars as a fundraiser. The executive director of the non-profit organization has been trying to find out how much of the profit on chocolate bars her organization was given, but the companies who sold the chocolate bars aren't telling, so she's a bit worried.

I was just wondering if there's a typical percent given to the organization?

There is no typical percent - it depend son the company you chose to do business with. Are you sure the information is not disclosed on the website? At the very least, there should be a signed agreement between your organization and the company, so take another look at that - it should state the percentage of sales, when they are paid out, and how long the contract is for. If you can't find the information and they refuse to tell you, you should cancel the agreement, and find a more reputable company.

Your executive director is entitled to this information. If they won't give it to her, she needs to report them.

We are happy to welcome your non-profit to our Free fundraiser and all profits are know up front.
